
Murder
Deliberately and purposely causing the death of an individual.
Note: A subject charged with this crime may be required to appear in court. If convicted could face life in prison or the death penalty.
Aggravated Assault
Causing serious bodily injury and using or displaying a physical object or deadly weapon during the assault.
Offense level is increased to Capital Felony if committed by or against a public servant, retaliation against a witness, informant, or person reporting a crime.
Kidnapping
Intentional and forcible abduction or confinement of an individual without their consent to: 1. Hold for ransom or reward; or 2. Use in the commission of another criminal act; or 3. Use as a shield or hostage; or 4. Assault or cause bodily injury; or 5. Using a firearm as a tool of threat to force or attempt to force abduction
Aggravated Robbery
Commits theft and/or causes bodily injury using a deadly weapon during the commission of the crime.
Manslaughter
Causing the death of an individual due to recklessness or indifference.
Robbery
Commits theft, without use of a deadly weapon.
Bribery
The intentional giving, receiving, soliciting, or acceptance of any benefit to impact the behavior or actions of a public servant or law enforcement official.
Directing Activities of Gang or Crime Syndicate
Intentionally and knowingly leads, manages, or otherwise directs a gang or crime syndicate to enable, facilitate, or otherwise further the commission of criminal offenses.
Arson
Deliberate destruction of property by means of fire, incendiary, or explosive device.
Deadly Conduct
Discharging a firearm or utilizing a destructive device in attempt to harm one or more persons, a habitation, building, or vehicle.
Breach of Computer Security
Unauthorized access of government or law enforcement computers, information systems, or database.
Witness Tampering
1. Persuading or coercing a witness, or prospective witness, in an official proceeding or court case to obtain any benefit. 2. Acceptance of any benefit as a witness, or prospective witness, in an official proceeding or court case.
Tampering with or Fabricating Evidence
The alteration, creation, destruction, or concealment of anything to impede official investigation or proceeding.
Escape from Custody
Unauthorized departure from, or failure to return to, law enforcement or other lawful detainment or custody.
Firearm Smuggling
The possession and transportation of firearms with intent to sell or distribute for financial gain or other benefit.
ENHANCEMENT The Offense Level is upgraded to Second Degree Felony if the offense involves three or more firearms.
Possession of Destructive Device
1. Any projectile containing explosive or incendiary material, including the type of ammo known as “tracer ammunition” (other than tracer ammunition designed for use in shotguns). 2. Any bomb, grenade, explosive missile, or similar device, or any device for launching such a weapon.
ENHANCEMENT The Offense Level is upgraded to Second Degree Felony if the person with the destructive device has a felony criminal history.
Possession of an Illegal or Dangerous Weapon
Anyone found in possession of a dangerous weapon or Class 3 weapon described in the gun definitions.
ENHANCEMENT The Offense Level is upgraded to Second Degree Felony if the person is on probation or parole.
